Waist Bead FAQS
What are waist beads and how do I use them?
Waistbeads original origin hails all the way from the motherland (Africa). The history and meaning vary from one tribe to the next. Mostly used to celebrate femininity and sexuality. The jewelry originally was worn for your mate to see ONLY. They also used them for tracking ones weight, marrige ceremonies or even a woman's right of passage.
Beads are even used to show one being blessed for protection, remove sickness and evil spirits. They were even used to bring love and fertility to one who tied a strand on during a ceremony.
Fast forward to 2022 and waistbeads are now a movement. A way that women now express themselves and show women empowerment. While they are still used to track ones weight and openly show their sexuality.
Every woman should be able to experience the power that comes from their very own beading ceremony. Use your waist as a daily reminder to appreciate all aspects of your body no matter where you are on your journey.

Choosing my size?
We ONLY offer traditional tie on waist beads. A standard set is 45 inches long. However exact measurements of your waist will NOT be necessary as all of our beads come 65 inches long. (Too long for most waist) if you require a longer length please select the extended size option. Below is a placement picture for reference.
How to tie them on?
Push it out. Even if you don't have a stomach you want to push it out as much as you can.
Ensure that you push your beads together so there is no exposed sting before tying.
Be sure not to cut too close to your knot as you don't want to loose your beads. A little burn on the end if your string after tying won't hurt either.
**NEVER TIE A BEAD ON WHILE SITTING DOWN OR WHILE HOLDING YOUR STOMACH IN. **
Do these help me loose weight?
The simple answer is no. However once you tie a strand on and you lose weight the beads will drop. If you gain weight the bread will tighten an rise up. A non scale tracker.
Can I retie them if they become loose?
You sure can beautiful, as long as there is enough string available for a retie. You can cut them and tie them on again.
How many can I wear at one-time?
We recommend no more than three at once for beginners. No more than eight at once for the experienced crew.
